These are the goals we identified for 2025 in our first meeting of the year.

2025-02-04 SIG meeting check-in

  • [Nikola/Mike] bpf_probe_write_user alternatives check-in
    • Depends on multi-process/daemon support
  • [Tyler/Ron/Mike] Custom probe API check-in
    • Mike to follow up with scheduling a kick-off meeting
  • [Tyler/Ron] Custom handler API check-in
    • Talked through iterative design approach
  • [Tyler] Multi-process support check-in
    • No update, likely depends on the Probe API, but more though needed here
  • [Tyler/Mike] Binary object file tracking check-in
    • No update
    • Talks on the issue were not accepted
    • We can likely still explore all the options and make a blog post
    • Need to make explore before we make a decision
  • [Nikola/Tyler] Beyla integration check-in
    • Tyler is working on a "Due Diligence" doc. More to be shared next week
  • [Ron/Eden] Sampling check-in
    • Depends on the Probe API
    • Possible improvements for probe specific sampling: Issue Comment/PR forthcoming
