When will the C# client be in general release?

For clear reasons, we can't promise anything.
With that said, it's on the roadmap for 2025, probably it will be the focus after Go GA.
And if you, or any viewer who comes across the conversation, are eager to join us, and contribute to the C# client (or another client as well), we would love to have you in the team, and we welcome any contribution 🦸🏽‍♀️

But, as said, we want every client to be the best, and we don't want to rush anything before making sure we created a bulletproof and great client, so I can't give a promise.

So C# was initiated at the beginning of the project more or less, and we got many request regarding Java, so it got postponed, since we prioritize user requests, and we weren't too deep in the development of C# in the sense that changing priority is not possible.

As a result, the foundations of C# were lay down, but didn't get large progress since.
After developing 4 clients, we also have many takes to enhance the plans of the C# client.
If you are interested in contributing, I'll happily put effort to rework the plan and create issues based on it.

That's could be really great, we could get much faster to a good beta version, and initially to GA.

Of course, based on good will and ability. Nothing obligating.

I wouldn't be able to commit to massive amounts due to my full time job as a software developer but would be able to find a bit of time at the weekends and evenings to help

Of course, 😃 a lot of us are doing it in our spare time for good will and the love of great and free software.
I'm doing it on my work time, but you will surely see me here on weekends, a job, but also a passion and a hubby :)
The firsts steps of the Go client, before it became the main client under development, the CPP client that is under work for few months now and the new initiative of the Ruby client that just started are all done by amazing friends of the community on their spare time, and of course, when they want and can, as long as they enjoy it.
Open project, free software, everyone is free to do as they want, one commit or one thousand, all greatly appreciated ❤️

Just curious, which platform do you want to use C# client on? Linux, Mac, Windows?

Windows and Linux

Windows mainly due to most code being on windows sever ATM

New code running in Linux
